Sonya Rima, Columbia
Sonya verfügt über langjährige Unterrichtserfahrung (u. a. Tanzhaus NRW, Stage School + Joop van den Ende Hamburg, Kolumbien, Florida, Polen, Peking), unterrichtet in Ausbildungsklassen und war viele Jahre Solotänzerin & Choreographin der international renommierten Triknia Dance Company.
Sonya Rima was born in 1964, in Columbia and studied Dance in New York. From 1981 until 1996 she worked for Contemporary Dance Company Triknia Kabhelioz as a choreographer´s assistant and a principal dancer. She has done many tours around the world with the company and performed in such places like Miami (Jackie Gleason Theater and Gusman Center), Paris, Bern, Barcelona, Costa Rica and many cities in germany.
Sonya was awarded a prize for best interpretation in the choreography festival „Oscar López“ in Barcelona. Apart from performing, she has a lot of teaching experience. For 15 years she was working as a teacher in the Contemporary Dance School Triknia Kabhelioz in Colombia. Then in 1990/91 she taught jazz in Florida International University and in Ballet Concerto in Miami.
From 1996 until 2006 she gave workshops at "Tanz Haus NRW". Between 1994 and 2007 she also worked in the Academy of Performing Arts, in the Musical School Stage School and in Joop van dem Ende Academy in Hamburg, teaching modern and jazz.
Recently she taught Jazz workshops in The National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in Beijin (China), in Poland and Columbia.
